Educational Communications Board (ECB) The Educational Communications Board serves as a resource for the Wisconsin education community by providing educational media, classroom resources, and professional development training opportunities in cooperation with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI), Wisconsin Public Television, Wisconsin Public Radio, and the University of Wisconsin Extension. As an agency of the State of Wisconsin, the mission of the ECB is to provide a statewide telecommunications system and assistance in the diffusion of advanced technologies in support of education.

American Memory: Historical Collections for the National Digital Library American Memory is a project of the Library of Congress, providing access to rich primary source materials relating to the history and culture of the United States.
Historical Voices This site is designed to create a fully searchable online database of spoken word collections from the 20th century. The database will continue to be updated with contributions of significant collections from cooperating institutions.
The New York Times The New York Times Learning Network — Teacher Connections site is updated daily, includes lesson plans and an archive of lesson plans, most of which deal with history and social studies.
PBS NewsHour Extra PBS NewsHour Extra provides quality educational resources based on current issues and events including news articles written for students, videos, high-quality, free lesson plans and teaching tools, as well as a Student Voices component offering essays by students from across the country.
Smithsonian Institution Digital Library This is the gateway to digitized images from the Smithsonian’s museums, archives, and libraries. The collection is browsable by general topic and searchable through the main Smithsonian Web site search.
